Early Childhood Development
Six in 10 children lack access to early childhood education.
Over 10 million children in Nigeria lack access to early childhood education (ECE) and care, representing approximately 64% of children aged 36-59 months who are not enrolled in nursery education. Only 36% of children in this age group attend formal early childhood care development education (ECCDE), with significant disparities between the richest (78% attendance) and poorest (8% attendance) households.
